Durham is a wrought-iron canopy bed in matt black with refined brass details. This bed is a showroom model: a one-off in 180 x 200 cm that has only ever been on display in our showroom. It is in as-new condition, with no signs of use. The bed suits classic, country-style and modern bedrooms.
Design and details
The graceful canopy structure and the clean wrought-iron lines give Durham a classic allure in a contemporary form. Elegant curves and spindles make the frame decorative, while the construction remains sturdy and stable.
The matt black finish emphasises the design and creates a strong yet understated look. Subtle brass accents add warmth. If you like, the canopy bed is easy to dress with fabric drapes or curtains.

Construction of your luxury bed: a foundation for dream comfort
This bed is put together with the greatest care to give you years of comfortable nights. The structure beneath your mattress is at least as important as the mattress itself. Below you will find a detailed explanation of the different bed bases we offer.
Standard base: a reliable foundation for every bedroom
This bed has a well-thought-out construction, with a carefully shaped headboard and footboard. The standard base consists of two robust support beams on which your slatted bed bases rest comfortably. This construction is designed for a total weight of up to 240 kg.
For optimal stability, the side panels are fitted with sturdy L-shaped profiles on which the support beams rest securely. The bed surround has a standard height of 18 cm, which gives a perfectly ergonomic sleeping height in combination with your mattress.
Adjustable sleeping height
An important feature of this bed is that the sleeping height can be set in two different positions using the adjustable L-profiles. The standard sleeping height of the bed is 27 cm from the floor to the top of the frame.
Reinforced base: extra support for extra comfort
For couples with a combined weight above 240 kg, or for anyone who simply wants extra sturdiness, we offer a reinforced bed frame. This option increases the load-bearing capacity to as much as 350 kg by means of a third support beam in the middle of the bed.
Please note: this reinforced construction is not compatible with most electric slatted bases, as the third support beam is placed where the motors of electric systems are normally located.
Special frame for electric slatted bases: technology and comfort combined
For lovers of electrically adjustable slatted bases, we have developed a special frame construction. With this option, we move the two support beams towards the headboard and footboard, creating space for the mechanical components of your electric slatted base.
To guarantee optimal support, we fit the sides with extra L-profiles that support your electric slatted base in the middle. We also place one central support leg in the exact centre of the bed for maximum stability.
This well-thought-out construction means you can enjoy all the comfort an electrically adjustable slatted base has to offer, without compromising on stability and durability.
Calculate your total sleeping height
The total sleeping height of your bed is determined by three components:
- The height of the bed frame (standard 27 cm)
- The thickness of the slatted bed base
- The thickness of the mattress
Example calculation
If, for example, you combine this bed with the Ferrobiflex 800 slatted bed base with a thickness of 13 cm and an All in One Original mattress with a thickness of 23 cm, you arrive at a total sleeping height of:
27 cm (bed frame) + 13 cm (slatted base) + 23 cm (mattress) = 63 cm
This calculation gives you a clear picture in advance of the final height of your bed, so you can decide whether it suits your personal preference and physical needs.
